Noise at the Reliever Airports

St. Paul Downtown

Pilot Information

Attention Pilots!

When departing St. Paul Downtown Airport on Runways 31 and 32 during non-tower hours, pilots should avoid unnecessary early departure turns over noise sensitive areas particularly the residential bluff area to the northeast boundary of the airport. When departing on Runways 13 and 14 during non-tower hours, pilots should avoid unnecessary early departure turns over noise sensitive areas to the southeast of the airport and the Mississippi River.

When arriving at St. Paul Downtown Airport during non-tower hours, pilots should avoid noise sensitive residential areas and follow the preferred noise abatement arrival routes (Interstate 35E, Mississippi River, Downwind over Highway 61).

The noise abatement plan for Holman Field attempts to utilize the most compatible land uses for dispersing overflights in an effort to lessen noise impacts to sensitive areas. All pilots are familiar with the responsibility they accept when operating an aircraft. While safety is always the first concern, pilots must also remember to conduct operations in a neighborly manner to avoid the implementation of restrictions. So be a good neighbor. Respect those who live in close proximity to our airport facilities by flying quietly.
